In 2019, Lao Japan School was jointly developed by two investors; one from Japan (Kodama International Educational Foundation) and one from the Lao PDR; with the support of the Sikhottabong District Education Bureau (Vientiane Capital). Their objective was to create a ‘Model School in Laos’.

LJS offers two high-quality education programs using both the Lao national curriculum alongside a specially developed English curriculum; while also teaching the Japanese and Chinese languages. The school is a “quadrilingual” private, international school.

Our Philosophy

“Nurturing” is the school’s philosophy and DNA; where our primary aim is to support the individual needs of each student, guiding them to develop the fundamental knowledge about their interests, skills and behaviors which are key to all future learning. This will ultimately prepare the students to go on to meet their personal and professional goals in their adult lives.
